At ONYCHEK, we love to hear from our consumers that keep our brand alive. Introducing a new series of interview-style Q&A’s, we get up-close and personal with some of our most loyal supporters.

Meet Miss Matay. A wanderlust nomad, photographer, fashion connoisseur, and devoted lover of all people… and all things. She’s that friend you call to take a stance with you against injustice and help you pick out a great statement piece for year-round. She’s just that girl.

    Get to know her:

A proud Angola and Guinea-Bissau South/West African, Miss Matay hails from Lisbon, Portugal. Fluent in Portuguese, French, Spanish and English, her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications is only an underlining to her first-hand experience living in France, Brazil, Spain, Argentina, the U.K. and now the U.S. You can find her in New York City photographing her latest fashion musings or enjoying friends and family.

From her statement photography, snippets of gleeful children, and reflective fashionable self-portraits… Miss Matay can be seen in social media capturing simplistic love and happiness. A consistent tone of all-inclusive diversity and culture is threaded throughout her work, making her political stance clear. Servicing her photography and online platform to help create change, these days, fashion and politics go hand-in-hand.

Consciously or subconsciously, everyone is looking for answers. How can I be heard? Where should I go? How can I help? Miss Matay looks to fashion and photography to help self-express her beliefs and feelings.

Our customers exude our mission everyday through shopping with us. What resonates with you as a consumer of the ONYCHEK brand? Let us hear from you to be featured next on THEINSIGHT.
